Eligibility:
You may be eligible if you meet all of the following criteria:
- aged 15 years or older
- no longer at school
- living or working in NSW
- an Australian/New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder.
Fees:
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

Kitchenhand – Smart & Skilled
Units:
- SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety
- SITHKOP001 Clean kitchen premises and equipment
- SITXCCS006 Provide service to customers
What you will learn:
- Use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that might cause food-borne illnesses. It requires the ability to follow predetermined organisational procedures and to identify and control food hazards.
- Clean food preparation areas, storage areas, and equipment in commercial kitchens to ensure the safety of food. It requires the ability to work safely and to use resources efficiently to reduce negative environmental impacts.
Communicate effectively with and provide quality service to both internal and external customers. It requires the ability to establish rapport with customers, determine and address customer needs and expectations, and respond to complaints.

Units:
- TLIB0002 Carry out vehicle inspection
- TLIF0009 Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)
What you will learn:
- Carry out inspection of a commercial vehicle, including hauling units and any attached trailer.
- Conduct routine checks, clean vehicles, ensuring all specified safety requirements are met and ensuring vehicles are operational.
- Ensure the safety of transport activities.
- Identify features and apply chain of responsibility obligation in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable state/territory law and regulations.

What you will learn:
- Apply fatigue management strategies within the transport and logistics industry.
- Identify and act on signs of fatigue and implementing appropriate strategies to minimise fatigue during work activities.
- Ensure the safety of transport activities.
- Identify features and apply chain of responsibility obligation in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable state/territory law and regulations.
