Study with Government Funding Assistance

Skills Assure is a Queensland Government initiative that identifies approved training providers offering subsidised or free vocational education to help individuals gain industry-relevant skills and improve employment prospects.

Academy Green Learning is a Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) approved to deliver funded qualifications under the following programs:

• Career Boost

Career Start

The Career Start program helps Queenslander’s jobseekers gain the skills and support needed to start their career, move into more skilled roles, or progress into full-time employment.

Under Career Start, an individual may access up to two subsidised training places through one of the following options:
• a general qualification at certificate III and an apprenticeship/traineeship, noting that if the apprenticeship/traineeship is done first, the individual is no longer eligible to access a general qualification under Career Start; or
• two apprenticeships/traineeships at either certificate II or III, including school-based apprenticeships or traineeships

 

Eligibility for Apprenticeship or Traineeship

To access a subsidised training place under Career Start, a student must meet the following criteria for an Apprenticeship or traineeship pathway:

  • are currently employed as a Queensland apprentice or trainee (under a registered training contract) in an eligible apprenticeship or traineeship Qualification through this Program
  • not currently be enrolled in a Qualification
  • not have previously completed a certificate III or higher-level Qualification within the last 10 years for a general training pathway
  • not exceed a maximum of two government-funded apprenticeships/traineeships within a 10-year period

 

Eligibility for General Training

To access a subsidised training place under Career Start, a student must meet the following criteria for the General Training pathway:

  • be aged 15 years or older, and no longer in school
  • permanently live in Queensland
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with an eligible visa subclass
  • not have previously completed a certificate III or higher-level Qualification within the last 10 years for a general training pathway
  • not currently be enrolled in a Qualification

Concessional students may qualify for reduced fees if you:

  • hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veteran Concession Card (or are a named dependent/partner)
  • identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • have a disability
  • are under 17, not at school, and have not completed Year 12
  • are an adult prisoner

*Students experiencing serious financial hardship may also qualify for a full fee exemption.

Career Boost

The Career Boost program helps Queenslanders to level-up at work, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new roles, and support productivity growth and workplace innovation.

Under Career Boost, an eligible individual may access:

  • one subsidised training place in either a certificate IV, diploma, or advanced diploma qualification under the general training pathway; OR
  • a higher level apprenticeship/traineeship at certificate IV or above; and up to two subsidised skill sets in priority industries or sectors as part of the program

 

Eligibility

To access a subsidised training place under Career Boost, a student must meet the following criteria for an Apprenticeship or traineeship pathway:

  • are currently employed as a Queensland apprentice or trainee (under a registered training contract) in an eligible apprenticeship or traineeship Qualification through this Program
  • not currently be enrolled in a Qualification
  • not have previously completed a certificate III or higher-level Qualification within the last 10 years for a general training pathway
  • not exceed a maximum of two government-funded apprenticeships/traineeships within a 10-year period
